Dr. Pessin grew up in Staten Island NY. He later moved to Baltimore in order to attend the world renowned University of Maryland where he graduated with his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 2001. He spent an additional year of residency at University of Maryland learning advanced techniques in implant and cosmetic dentistry. After finishing his post graduate work Dr. Pessin moved back to New York and has been practicing in Brooklyn since 2002.
Dr. Pessin is passionate about dentistry and believes that a dentist’s education is never complete. That is why he travels around the country seeking out premier dental education lecturers to constantly further his dental education. Dr. Pessin has achieved Fellowship in both the Academy of General Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. These awards are granted to the small percentage of dentists who complete many hours of post graduate work and pass rigorous testing.

Sedation Dentistry
Early in his career Dr. Pessin became sensitive to the unfortunate reality of how many patients truly hate going to the dentist. Fear and anxiety keep millions of patients from going to the dentist and for many who do go the experience can be very stressful.
Seeking to help these patients Dr. Pessin became certified in conscious sedation. At our office we perform dozens of sedation visits a year, often completing a patient’s work in one stress free visit. This is one of the most rewarding services we offer, with patients who are effusive in their gratitude for finally being able to go to the dentist again. Adult Orthodontics
Dr. Pessin is certified to practice both Invisalign and Six Month Smiles. Both of these systems allow adults to straighten their teeth and finally have the smile they have always been dreaming of. Patients who come to us seeking orthodontics often tell us how they haven’t smiled in years. We love watching the transformation of these patients as they finally start to smile again!
Implants
Dr. Pessin has done extensive dental implant training and has been practicing implant dentistry for more than 20 years. He has extensive knowledge of multiple implant systems and has successfully placed thousands of implants.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Dr. Pessin does all forms of cosmetic dentistry. He trained at the prestigious LVI (Las Vegas Institute)and is proficient in veneers and full mouth cosmetic rehabilitation. TMJ/TMD
Many people suffer from TMJ disease. TMJ can cause muscle pain, chronic earaches and headaches. Dr. Pessin trained in neuromuscular disease and treatment at LVI. Our goal is to help get you out of pain and functioning again.
Sleep Apnea
Those suffering with sleep apnea are often prescribed a CPAP machine to wear at night. Often, these machines are extremely difficult to wear. Dr. Pessin is trained in the manufacture of oral devices to treat sleep apnea. In many cases these patients can be freed of these machines and finally wake up feeling refreshed and energized.
Laser Dentistry
Dr. Pessin is certified in laser dentistry and uses lasers as part of his non-surgical periodontal protocol.
